I just adore Hover Flies. They do that. They hover and then settle and intrigue and create a delight for anyone who loves the potter in the garden and look for excuses to just be.

But, even better, Hover Flies (Syrphidae) have larvae that are predatory, munching away on aphids.

Long live the Hover Fly.
